Our Rooms
A place to belong, learn, and grow at every age

Every stage of childhood is full of change, growth and discovery. Our rooms at Kids on Beaufort are designed to meet children right where they are – from the gentle beginnings of nursery, through the busy toddler years, and into our Big Kids program that prepares them for kindergarten.
Our Rooms
The journey through our rooms
From baby steps to big kids
Every stage of childhood brings something new to discover. Our rooms are thoughtfully designed to support a child’s progression from nursery age through to pre-kindergarten.
We ensure that every room has additional educators, so your child has the time, support, and encouragement to flourish, play, and learn at their own pace.

A play-based kindergarten experience
Big Kids on Beaufort
Our Big Kids programme gives children aged 3–5 years the best of both worlds — the care of childcare and the focus of kindergarten.
Led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher, children grow through play-based projects, daily routines that mirror school life, and the support of an additional educator in the room.
With their own dedicated building, just steps away from our main centre, Big Kids enjoy the space and independence to build friendships, confidence, and real school readiness.

We’re here to help
Frequently
asked questions
Choosing the right early learning centre is a big decision, and it’s natural to have questions.
Here are some of the ones we’re asked most often — and if yours isn’t here, our friendly team would love to chat with you.
We take the time to get to know your child their routines, their comforts, and the little things that help them feel secure.
Families are invited to join free orientation sessions, giving you and your child a chance to settle in and build trusting relationships with our educators. Each morning, our team takes a moment to check in with you about how your child’s night was, their sleep, and anything else that might shape their day.
We understand that every baby is unique, with their own rhythm, personality, and needs. By following each child’s individual cues for sleep, feeding, and play, we help them feel right at home in the Crawford Room — creating a gentle, nurturing, and reassuring start to their journey with us.
Transitions are planned gradually, with plenty of time for your child to get to know their new educators and space. We work closely with you to make sure the move feels smooth and positive for both you and your child.
Our educators use calm, consistent approaches like getting down to the child’s level, offering reassurance, and providing safe spaces to settle. With more educators in each room, children get the attention they need during these important years.
Every child develops at their own pace, and we respect that. Moves between rooms are based on your child’s readiness — socially, emotionally, and developmentally — rather than just their age. We work closely with parents to support transitions.
By the time your child is ready to move into the Big Kids room, they’re prepared to embrace a program led by an Early Childhood Teacher and supported by a team of experienced educators.
This program is filled with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and a love of learning.
With a bring-your-own-lunchbox routine and more challenging activities, children step into this next stage feeling capable, confident, and excited for what’s ahead.
Our Big Kids program mirrors parts of a school day, like group times and bringing their own lunchboxes, while staying play-based and nurturing. This balance helps children adjust gradually, so starting school feels like the natural next step.
All meals are freshly prepared on site, and our cooks cater to each child’s dietary and cultural requirements. Whether it’s allergies, intolerances, or pureed meals for younger children, we make sure every child is included and nourished.
Sustainability is part of everyday life at Kids on Beaufort. Children care for our worm farm, recycle materials for creative projects, and use natural, loose parts in their play — helping them learn to value and respect the world around them.
We celebrate the richness of our community by welcoming families from all backgrounds. Educators weave different traditions, languages, and stories into the daily program so every child feels seen and represented.
We work closely with families to learn key words from home and draw on multilingual educators where possible. This helps children feel safe, understood, and connected as they settle into the group.
